Benefits

Insurance

Whilst every show is different, the Association works closely with its own insurance company to provide advice and guidance on insurance issues and questions.

Legal Advice

As with insurance, the Association works with a team of solicitors who are also available to provide initial advice to members. Further detailed and in depth work can be undertake, arrangement being made between the two parties as necessary.

PPL - (Phonographic Performing Licence)

Any show using recorded music is liable to pay the Phonographic Performing Licence an annual sum. The amount each show pays is based on the number of attendees in bands of 1,000. The Association has negotiated with PPL a contract under which member shows pay a discounted rate and if attendance is less than 10,000, then no payment at all. To make it even easier, the Association collects any monies due on behalf of PPL when collecting the annual subscription.

Health & Safety

This is an area which is becoming increasingly difficult to negotiate and in which to stay ahead of the game. The Association has teamed up with Mentor to provide subscribing members with a Telephone Advice Line which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no limit on the number of occasions the service can be used, and it provides that little bit of assurance and guidance in a very complex area. Members have the opportunity to subscribe to a Telephone Advice Line to answer questions and provide advice as well as give up to date information on legislation for any event or activity, not just those listed in the Annual List of Shows & Sales.

Exchange System

Member Show Secretaries can apply to other members for complimentary tickets to attend events. In this way individuals have the opportunity to share best practices on an ongoing basis, and benchmark services, procedures and equipment.
