Mirfield Show

Mirfield Show is an annual agricultural and family fun day where town meets country. It is held at the Showground Huddersfield Road, Mirfield on the third Sunday in August. It is organised and run by the Mirfield Agricultural Show Society as a not-for-profit event, and regularly attracts over 10,000 people.

The show is centred around two rings. The Main Ring hosts the Horse and Pony Show in the morning, followed by main attractions in the afternoon. These have included, interactive demonstrations of dog agility, birds of prey, duck herding, sheep shearing, racing terriers, racing sheep, cycle stunt displays, dancers, martial arts, Roman military re-enactments and classic car displays, amongst many others.

The second ring hosts a fun dog show. This is located in the adjacent school grounds where there are also a wide range of child-friendly interaction activities and displays – everything from donkey rides to races and sporting challenges for all the family.

The remainder of the showground hosts, stalls, food outlets, animal corner, puppet show, music stage for local acts, brass band and other entertainments. The showground is presided over by the marquee which is home to craft stalls, small animal displays, vegetable, handicraft and domestic exhibitors and so much more!
