Southwell Ploughing Match and Show
28 September 2024
The Southwell Ploughing Match is one of the largest agricultural shows in the area. Boasting deep roots in our local history, the show was first established in 1855 and has been run by local farmers, rural businesses and countryside enthusiasts ever since. This annual show is hosted by local farmers at different venues and has become a key social event in Nottinghamshire’s countryside calendar.
The show represents all the really important aspects of agriculture from preparing the land to cooking and eating locally produced food. Exhibits and competitions include ploughing, using the original horse power as well as vintage and modern tractors, to livestock judging and farm management displays, a dog show, horticultural & home produce competitions and home crafts. We do hope you can join us.
