29th May 2017
Our dedicated team are working hard to create the next Show which will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May 2016 at its fantastic venue in the beautiful parkland of Bywell Hall, near Stocksfield on the banks of the River Tyne.
We are delighted to bring the fast and furious Shetland Grand National to the Main Arena in 2016 and as we confirm other attractions will update the website, so keep checking back for all our news.
With agriculture firmly at the heart of the Northumberland County Show we are proud to showcase some of the finest livestock in the country with sections for cattle, sheep, horses, alpacas and goats as well as the ever popular rabbits and cavies and a marquee packed with poultry of many varieties. The competitive day culminates in the Grand Parade of livestock in the main area where the coveted Champion of Champions title is awarded. The competitions aren’t all about livestock – we have our own ‘bake off’ classes in the Competitive Home Crafts marquee, Cumberland & Westmorland wrestling, one of the biggest stick dressing competitions in the country and lots of huffing and puffing in the tug of war and Britains Strong Man Challenge Qualifier.
As one of the largest one day shows in the country we are a shop window for trade stands of all descriptions offering everything from ‘cakes to combines!’ and with a commitment to supporting local businesses are proud to promote the best of Northumberland.
With over 350 trade stands to browse, delicous food hall, dedicated fun family and childrens area, also an outstanding selection of catering stands and food outlets - and beer tents - the day provides a great venue for people from all walks of life to meet and enjoy a glimpse into rural life. Add to that packed programmes of events in the Main arena and Castle arenas and the scene is set for the 2016 Northumberland County Show, truly a great day out.
