Event Details
The Rutland Agricultural Society
Formed around 1831, the RAS has held an annual show for the last 183 years, with only a few years interruption during the World Wars.
The aims of the society are:
To further the cause of agriculture to promote well-being and efficiency of agriculture and all professions, trade & craft connected to it in the County of Rutland. To hold an annual show and to help support the education of young people in good agricultural practices.
These aims still hold true today. The essence of the 184th Rutland County Show still represents farming and agriculture. You only need to look at our livestock and equine entries last year (Over 1000 entries!) and our agricultural trade stands to see we are proud to represent our County.
Having moved in to our new showground in 2014 we have new challenges ahead, though with two successful shows under our belt we hope the society will go from strength to strength.
