North East's premier agricultural show is held on the first weekend in September and is the oldest Agricultural Show in the country. Wolsingham and Wear Valley Agricultural Society is a traditional two-day agricultural show with an attendance of over 30,000!
Wolsingham Show celebrates its 239th annual show this year in what promises to be another action-packed event on September 1 and 2
Attractions include sulky racing, fur and feather exhibits, falconry and alpaca displays, cattle, sheep, milking goats, horses classes, a brass band, a parade of champions and many side shows.
In addition to the livestock the public will get the chance to see this year's huge attraction the Jason Smyth Adrenaline Tour which is planned for the East Durham College main arena where other attractions like the popular show jumping can be seen.
A weekend of family entertainment with lots to see and do.
Saturday is the Agricultural Day along with many things to see including a craft tent, donkey rides, dog agility show, bird of prey display, alpaca display, Diggerland - vintage tractors, food market, and over 100 trade stands plus many more events entertainment to keep the whole family amused.
The Country Fair day is on Sunday and amongst the many things to see and do are a KC dog show, ferret show, alpaca display, ponies, marquee displays, horticulture, food market, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, Mountgrace Gundogs, Diggerland - vintage tractors/cars/stationary engines, line dancing, live tribute acts and the grand parade of prizewinning stock
