Prince of Wales to make Royal visit to Westmorland Show

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will make his first visit to Westmorland County Show on Thursday 14th September.

The Society is truly honoured to be able to welcome The Prince of Wales to Westmorland Show this year.

One of the oldest shows in the country, with the emphasis of the day firmly on British agriculture and the promotion of the industry, The Prince’s visit will include some of the many highlights at the Show and provide an insight into the Cumbria’s finest examples of farming, food and industry.

Chief Executive of Westmorland County Agricultural Society, Christine Knipe, said that the Show would without doubt give The Prince of Wales a very warm Cumbrian welcome.

“We are absolutely delighted that His Royal Highness will be attending the Show this year and we are sure he will enjoy his day with us.”

The Royal visit comes following a tour of Westmorland County Agricultural Society in April 2015, which focused on the Society’s wide-ranging educational activities and where The Prince met officials and volunteers.

Mrs Knipe said: “During this visit, we invited His Royal Highness to return one day, so the fact that he will be with us again to experience the Show fills the Society with great pride. Westmorland Show is a true celebration of Cumbria and as such, we are looking forward to showcasing the best of the region’s farming, food and livestock.”
