The ASAO works to give a co-ordinated approach to all aspects of the various situations and operations of the show world. This is achieved through relationships as a stakeholder and prime mover with various agencies and organisations to obtain a level playing field for organisers, as well as suggesting a template for within which enforcing authorities may operate across the country and the industry.
The ASAO is consulted and included in regular discussions with organisations such as DEFRA, DCMS (Licensing), Health and Safety Executive, British Veterinary Association, Breed Societies, Showing Council, Trading Standards, Charity Commission, Event Industry Forum and the Police. These discussions are to promote the views of the membership and to ensure that impractical legislation is not passed.
Below you will find links to guidance documents that have been produced, in consultation with other agencies, to provide advice for organisers of agricultural shows.
