National Shire Horse Show

13-14 March 2021

Enthusiasts will travel from across Europe to show their horses, with spectators expected to come from all over the world.

The pedigree Shire horses will be put through their paces over two days of competition- giving horse lovers a unique insight into the gentle giants of the horse world. The National Shire Horse Show is the opportunity to find out more about Shire horses, see them shown in style- in-hand, ridden and turned out- to support the work of the Shire Horse Society.

The prestigious King George V cup will be awarded to the most impressive stallion on Saturday and a host of other trophies will be handed out over the weekend.

This outdoor event is a spectacular weekend of family fun including:

  • National Championships with around 250 entries expected to compete
  • Trade stands
  • In-hand Classes
  • Turnout Classes
  • Ridden Shire Horse Classes
  • Agricultural Classes
  • Grand Parade on Saturday and Sunday
  • Horseshoe-making and shoeing demonstrations
  • The event starts on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00am and closes at approximately 4:45pm.
